Workshops

The military’s Transition Assistance Program (TAP) is a great “jumping off point” but learning the ropes from civilian recruiters puts you back in the driver’s seat. The process looks different once you are out of uniform and looking for connections to navigate the hidden job market.

Patriots Path’s 5-Part program provides career transition strategies for military Veterans (and spouses) as well as active duty Guard and Reserve members. This course was developed and is taught by Career Coaches and Executive Recruiters. Each of our five in-classroom, interactive workshops are held in corporate boardrooms or training facilities offering students added connectivity to employers who are committed to supporting them. Classes are also offered online. In addition to the five group classes, students also participate in breakout sessions one-on-one with assigned mentors and coaches to cover more personalized resume writing, mock-interviews and job shadowing.

The course is free!

Personality & Interest Assessment

Each student takes an online Birkman personality/interests assessment that they are encouraged to reference throughout the class and during each meeting with volunteer coaches and advisors. The feedback report also offers personalized descriptors and action words that can be used to enhance resumes and strengthen interview answers. Our goal is to give each individual the “permission” and the tools to be their best self in whatever field they choose!

One-On-One Coaches & Mentors

In addition to the five group classes, students are required to complete one-on-one breakout sessions with assigned mentors and coaches to cover personalized resume (re)writing, mock interviews, and job shadowing (as available). These extra sessions can be scheduled at their convenience as long as the meetings are complete prior to the next class.

Most one-on-one coaching sessions will run approximately 2 hours but can vary based on the needs of the students and the availability of the volunteers. Mentors may connect as often as needed. Our goal is for each introduction to establish an additional “networking contact” for our students resulting in additional referrals and networking.
